OS+A [Organic Scapes + Architecture] emerged as a design collaborative envisioned by Gabriel Belli and Stefano Rocchetti in the spring of 2011, following a long period of collaboration at the Massimiliano Fuksas studio in Rome, as well as the Pritzker Price recipient studio of Norman Foster and Partners in London, and the internationally known UN Studio in Amsterdam. Throughout the years of collaboration since they met at the Fuksas studio in 2008, both have shared a parallel interest in the study of natural organic landscapes and how these can be re-interpreted and applied to modern day needs for living, work and play. This evident fascination with complex patterns found in nature, accepting our natural surroundings as evolutionary habitats not so diverse as the concrete cities of contemporary urban life, is clearly represented in projects such as the Venus Tower (a competition entry for a multi-use tower and landmark for the city of Incheon in South Korea), a Floating Exhibition Gallery proposal for London's Thames River, and their most recent project proposal for the Campus International School in Cleveland which introduces a honeycomb structure topped with a public park covering the entire footprint of a one story building. This heterogeneous approach towards architecture has enabled OS+A's work to be in constant study and re-evaluation of design methodologies and ideas, looking at architecture as the ground for new discoveries and uncharted horizons.
